A carved Teak root wooden bowl, decorated with a sterling silver dragon. A great centerpiece for any table to put fruits or candies.

As a spirit animal, Dragons traditionally are the embodiment of primordial power, the ultimate ruler of all the elements - Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind. It is the fifth of the 12 Chinese zodiac animals and associated with the Earthly branch symbol 辰, pronounced chen. In Chinese folklore, the Dragon of often seen chasing after a flaming Pearl, symbolically associated with energy, wisdom, prosperity, power, and immortality. As a totem, the Dragon serves as a powerful guardian and guide and is a symbol of good luck for people who are worthy of it in East Asian culture.

As a material, the teak root was sourced from the finest teak plantations in Java, Indonesia, which is known to have the ideal conditions for high grade Teak quality. Teak is the common name for the tropical hardwood tree species Tectona grandis and its wood products, native to South and Southeast Asia. It is known for its incredible durability and water resistance. Teak has a high oil content, giving it the highest decay-resistance among all-natural wood products. Due to its durability, while it is still used for boat building, yachts, exterior construction, indoor and outdoor furniture, it also very dear to artists and sculptors for making intricate carvings and elaborate sculptures. Lotus Arts de Vivre uses various free-formations of the teak branches, teak root or drift wood to further hand-carve and create its designs, giving wood a second life.

The piece took 6 craftsmen and designers 2 months to complete.
