This organically shaped burl wood sculpture is decorated with sterling silver Chinese dragon decorated with holder, lining with gold-leafs. The dragon occupies a very important position in Chinese mythology.  Its sinuous body encircling the table lining in a fluid movement makes it a unique and exotic piece. Set on black granite base.

As a totem, Dragons traditionally symbolize potent and auspicious powers, particularly control over water, rainfall, typhoons, and floods. The dragon is also a symbol of power, strength, and good luck for people who are worthy of it in East Asian culture. The Dragon is also the fifth of the 12 Chinese zodiac animals. The Year of the Dragon is associated with the Earthly Branch symbol 辰, pronounced chen.

Rolf von Bueren, an avid burl wood collector for over 35 years, personally travels to Japan to look for rare and beautiful pieces of burl woods including this majestic piece. Burls result in a uniquely patterned wood, which is highly prized for its beauty. It is valued and sought after by artists, furniture makers and sculptors.

This piece can be placed at an entrance of a home,  a center piece in any luxurious living room or office. It took 6 craftsmen over 2 months to complete this piece from design to wax carving the Silver texture to finish.
