About Us

The Preservation of Heritage

“Our love for exploration and respect for ancient cultures is driven by the fact that our cultural heritage is disappearing at an incredible speed. While we cannot fight progress, it is essential that we preserve the knowledge of traditional crafts which play a vital role in any culture and identity. Thailand has many crafts that are preserved by Her Majesty The Queen in a unique organization called Silapacheep. To preserve these crafts is to preserve one’s Thai national heritage and we continue to do exactly that.”
Rolf von Bueren

About The Products

Every piece in Lotus' portfolio – Masterpieces, Jewelry, Home Décor, and Accessories – is handcrafted and tells our story. Lotus Arts de Vivre, being rooted in Asia, is highly inspired by nature and the culture and mythology of the region, making use of noted rare and auspicious naturally occuring materials, such as coconut shells, scarab wings, ebony and precious woods, sea shells, bamboo and teak to create art, just to name the tip of the iceberg of Lotus' entire material inventory. In terms techniques, the brand also travels throughout Asia in search of the originators or masters of a craft, such as India for gem-cutting, Indonesia for wood carving, Thailand for Niello work, Japan for Makie Lacquer and China for Cinnabar Lacquer.

About The Family

Rolf and Helen von Bueren founded Lotus Arts de Vivre nearly four decades ago and throughout the years, the family, including sons Sri and Nicki, have travelled the world in search of creative inspiration, fabulous materials, and maintaining long-term relationships with some of the most highly skilled craftsmen living. At present, Sri and Nicki have taken the reins of the family business, continuing to produce curiosities worth collecting and managing a secondary market with auction houses and online platforms.
