‘Golconda’ is a name used within the Jewellery world to denote the world’s finest diamonds. India has been described as a source of diamonds from antiquity onwards. Most famous was the historic kingdom of Golconda (1347-1687), which is currently in Hyderabad, Telangana in India. Three visual characteristics that define the beauty of Golconda diamonds: A high degree of limpidity (crystal), an ultra-whiteness and a blue afterglow that appears in natural daylight, which the connoisseurs call that the water captured in the Golcondas. For connoisseurs, the Golconda diamonds that retain their original cuts are the most coveted. Since the stones may have been mined hundreds of years ago, many exhibit the slightly less than precise cutting styles that were common prior to this century.

The peacock is a possessor of some of the most admired human characteristics, and is a symbol of integrity and the beauty we can achieve when we endeavor to show our true colors. In history, myth, legend and lore, the peacock symbolism carries portents of: Nobility, Holiness, Guidance, Protection and Watchfulness. In Chinese culture, the Peacock was a symbol of the Ming Dynasty, representing divinity, rank, power, and beauty. The peacock with its tail of 100 eyes is also associated with the goddess Guan Yin, resembling protection and holiness and Buddhists also connect peacock’s feather with openness since the bird dazzlingly displays everything when fanning its tail out.

The earrings were painstakingly designed and finished by 15 craftsmen and designers involved at various stages, taking 2.5 months to complete.
