Mother of Pearl Plate, handcrafted from the finest mother of pearls in Southeast Asia, decorated with a Sterling Silver Cheetah, with intricate details of skilled craftsmanship visible on the Silver texture of the piece. It was conceptualized, designed and hand-crafted in celebration of HRH Princess Michael of Kent's "A Cheetah's Tale".

The piece is perfectly suited as a formal dining implement – Nestle this iridescent plate for a stunning caviar presentation, host evening cocktails with miniature hors d'oeuvres or serve fruits, dessert, and candies for a casual gathering. Ideal as a gift, our Mother of Pearl Plate collection is also popularly used as a home or office décor on a low coffee tables and desks.

Lotus Arts de Vivre sources its Mother of Pearl plates from the tropics of Asia and the collection includes various designs of plates. Mother of Pearl is the common name for a nacre coating, it is strong, resilient, and iridescent. Popular for their sturdiness and beauty, it was also used to decorate watches, knives, guns, and jewellery. The main commercial sources of these shells started in the early 1900’s, worn by the Kings and Queens of various eras.

The Cheetah symbolizes speed, fast action, intensity, focus, accelerating time, activity, maneuverability, and keen sight. It also symbolizes flexibility and adaptability when it comes to ever changing influences.

This piece took approximately 6-8 weeks labour to finish, with over 6 craftsmen and designers involved from design to production.
