Green Galuchat Bull Paper Weight

Hand-made carved wood bull covered with green galuchat and decorated with sterling silver.

Galuchat was the name of a royal suitcase maker in Medieval Europe and stingray has ever since been call Galuchat or shagrin.  It is reknowned for its toughness and was used by the Japanese as armor.

Elements:  Galuchat leather, Red coral in eyes, Sterling Silver, and Buffalo horn.
This piece took approximately 20 days of labor to finish.
