A Lotus Arts de Vivre clutch jewelled painstakingly with a wide array of precious textiles 14K gold and gemstones; it’s an ode to the roaring 1900-1920s of elaborate opulence. This bag is elegantly created with the Black Silk Moiré Gold Dragon embroidery by the master of Indian traditional artisan. The lining was well selected fabric in Pink Moiré. It is embellished with Blue Sapphire, Red Spinel, Fresh Water Pearl and 14K gold decoration. The adornment is particularly designed with the gold gilding by 24K gold leaf on the natural bamboo piece. This is inherited from traditional Asian wisdom to apply gold onto a very thin layer but glowing and last for very long time.
About the Textiles: Rolf and wife, Helen, roam the globe in search of suitable textiles for their inspiration pieces of Handbags. Materials were collected from Japan, Europe, India, Indonesia, and China. The textiles, most of which are categorized as antique or vintage, were from the period 1880’s to 1950’s. Combinations of these materials are intricately and artistically handcrafted onto the Bags.
From artistic conceptualization to design to finishing this Handbag took more than 2.5 months to complete with over 10 craftsmen involved at various stages.
