A bucket is made from one single piece of Burl Wood and then embellished with Sterling silver décor inside. Set on black granite base, this piece can be used as a Wine bucket , pen/pencil stand as well as elegant and small flower décor atop a side table.
Rolf von Bueren, an avid burl wood collector for over 35 years, personally travels to Japan to look for rare and beautiful pieces of burl woods including this majestic piece. Burls result in a uniquely patterned wood, which is highly prized for its beauty. Burl wood is very hard to work with hand tools or on a lathe because its grain is twisted and interlocked, causing it to chip and shatter unpredictably. This "wild grain" makes burl wood extremely dense and resistant to splitting, which makes it valuable for furniture, inlay in doors, picture frames, household objects, automobile interior panelling and trim, musical instruments, and woodturning.
