A beautiful Peacock ring with a Black Wood base. The Black wood has been carved into a blooming flower, atop which hand-cut Mexican Abalone shell and a jewelled Peacock embellish the ring in sophisticated style. The Peacock has been elegantly studded with a wide array of Tsavorites and Diamonds. The striking head crests of the Peacock are decorated with 9K Gold, each set with a Pearl and the beak is embellished with 9K Gold. The eyes of the Peacock are studded with Ruby set on Black Rhodium plated Sterling Silver, bringing the piece to its graceful life.
Lotus Arts de Vivre sources its Abalone Shells from Mexico. These Abalone Shells are oval shaped with natural imperfections and the iridescent colours of the shells enhance feelings of peace, beauty, compassion, and love. The main commercial sources of these shells started in the early 1900’s, worn by the Kings and Queens of various eras. Popular for their sturdiness and beauty, it was also used to decorate watches, knives, guns, and jewellery.
Peacock is one of the most brilliantly adorned bird and in Chinese culture, the Peacock was a symbol of the Ming Dynasty, representing divinity, rank, power, and beauty. The peacock with its tail of 100 eyes is also associated with the goddess Guan Yin, resembling protection and holiness. While in decorative art, the peacock symbolizes dignity and beauty, the Buddhists also connect peacock’s feather with openness since the bird dazzlingly displays everything when fanning its tail out.
