 Lotus Arts de Vivre sources its Bamboo from China. This remarkable “Chinese Bamboo Tree” is different from most trees in that – while most trees grow steadily over a period of years, the Chinese bamboo tree doesn’t break through the ground for the first four years. Then, in the fifth year, an amazing thing happens – the tree begins to grow at an astonishing rate. In fact, in a period of just five weeks, a Chinese bamboo tree can grow to a height of 90 feet.

 Lotus Arts de Vivre combines the organic shape of the bamboo and the root, and then skilled artisans carve them into pieces of decor and design. These labour intensive pieces are one of a kind works of art (no two pieces are similar) that have been put together by skilled craftsmen who have preserved the knowledge of traditional craft techniques.
