Lotus Arts de Vivre sources its Abalone shells from Mexico and the collection includes various designs of Jewelry and bowls. These Abalone Shells are oval shaped with natural imperfections such as grooves, and holes which are respiratory apertures that allow a living Abalone to vent water from its gills. The inner lining is composed of Nacre, also known as Mother of Pearl, which has beautiful iridescent colors and markings. The pastel rainbow colors of the Abalone shell enhance feelings of peace, beauty, compassion, and love. The main commercial sources of these shells started in the early 1900’s, worn by the Kings and Queens of various eras. Popular for their sturdiness and beauty, it was also used to decorate watches, knives, guns, and jewellery.

Symbolically, mandarin ducks are believed to be lifelong couples, unlike other species of ducks. Hence, they are regarded as a symbol affection, and are frequently featured in Chinese and East Asian art.
