19th Century Rose Wood Table

This magnificent study (table) has been created from carved Rosewood set with Marble on the top. It has two drawers with beautiful brass hinges on either sides, with two ornately patterned Rosewood bases at the bottom of the table.

Rosewood Furniture and décor is one of east Asia’s craftsmanship wonder which is a result of Chinese masters from various centuries carving and crafting for the ancient nobles, royal courts and wealthy aristocratic households of Asia. Rosewood is an extremely valuable and rare wood, prized by sculptors, collectors and artists for the quality of its timber, craftsmanship and nostalgic cultural value across Asia, specially China. The tree is slow-growing, with a lifespan of several hundred years, and the rise in demand has brought numerous species of rosewood near commercial extinction. The wood is a beautiful richly hued timber, often brownish with darker veining but found in many different hues. All rosewoods are strong and heavy, taking an excellent polish, being suitable for guitars (the fretboards on electric and acoustic guitars often being made of rosewood)
