A beautiful bangle, decorated atop with an intricately carved Batulaga Shell, accented in the grooves with 24K Gold Leaf, with a ribbed black Silk and Leather strap. A stunning array of Golconda Diamonds are decorated at the center with Rose Cut Diamonds elegantly set at the periphery. The Golconda Diamonds are from the Kollur Mines in the South of India, presently Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Lotus Arts de Vivre has an extremely skilled shell carving master, who being nearly 80 years old, has been carving shells for over 5 decades. The master produces miracles of carving with extreme detail, bringing the shells almost back to life. In the ancient Kingdoms of the Far East carved shells like these were reserved for the Royal Palaces and the Courts, often in forms of gifts or as Jewelry. The cold waters in the west produced few shells and hardly any pearls, this availability crunch made these shells prized western possessions as well.

For connoisseurs, the Golconda diamonds that retain their original cuts are the most coveted like this décor on the ring. ‘Golconda’ is a name used within the Jewellery world to denote the world’s finest diamonds with unmatched clarity, light softness surface luster, gentle and yet luminous and striking. (The connoisseurs call that the water captured in the Golcondas). Since the stones may have been mined hundreds of years ago, many exhibit the slightly less than precise cutting styles that were common prior to this century.

The world’s finest diamonds came from the Golconda Sultanate of the 16th-17th century, the so-called “Diamond Capital” of the world, in what is now Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states in India. By the 19th century, Golconda diamonds were synonymous with the finest and largest diamonds in the world, including the colorless Koh-i-Noor (now owned by the United Kingdom), the blue Hope (United States), the pink Daria-i-Noor (Iran), the white Regent (France), the Dresden Green (Germany), and the colorless Orlov (Russia), Nizam and Jacob (India), as well as the now lost diamonds Florentine Yellow, Akbar Shah and Great Mogul.

This piece took more than 3 months to complete with more than 12 craftsmen and designers involved a true testimony of creating “Masterpiece” of art.
